The Potion Diaries by Amy Alward

I know I have already included this book in my summer must haves but I feel my description was to minimal. I also want to talk about this book as have nearly finished the sequel, which I will be reviewing next week, and I feel its only fitting to tell you about the first one, first.

This book is about Samantha Kemi, an amateur alchemist from a long line of professionals. Her family were once the most respected alchemists in all of Nova, but they have always preferred the traditional way of making potions, since the invention of synths, their business isn't booming. Their shop is in ruin and it looks like they might have to close.

Meanwhile, Princess Evelyn of Nova is the most powerful Talented Novean in history. Legend states that when she marries her power will be shared with her husband and therefore not be that dangerous. However, the Princess doesn't get out often because of the danger her power can be outside, she decides to trick her best friend into marrying her with a LOVE POTION! It backfires and a Wilde Hunt is called to save her. Is Samantha Kemi the only one who is able to save her, but will the Princess's evil aunt Emilia Thoth get in the way?

This is a really exciting book full of twists, turns and romance along the way. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone x
